Graphic Drivers or cards are basically the device that display on you're screen. They're mostly used for gaming purposes. Each driver comes with its own execution units, depending on WHICH it is. For Example: Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 has 12 execution units, and is attached to the mother board of the computer, which isn't much good, as its not very much supportive for gameplay's....the least you can get to play is MW2 In low settings, 'cause i've had that experience of my own.
The Best graphic card people use is the NIVIDA Geforce series. They have something extra-ordinary about their development, which enables ALOT of players to play like a baws..
the Basic information you need to know about graphic drivers are:
1. That you read the name of the graphic card, the most best graphic cards for selection are probably ATI Raedon or Nividia Geforce series.
2.Remember to check out the memory of the card. Its important too because of you're gonna play hi-five games like Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3...you possibly need 1.24-1.44 GB of memory for normal graphic cards. 512 MB or 256 MB should be enough for Geforce or Raedon.
3. Make sure that card contains pixel shaders. Best are the 2.0 version series..or at least so...
4. If you still need more information, you should download Techpower-GPU to display ALL you're graphic card information which you don't need to know.
5.Types of versions:
(i) Software: This is probably the most common input all gpus have. Its not the best for gaming, but good for CS 1.6 and HL, if you have one.
(ii) OpenGL: One of the best inputs. It's come's with versions which can be seen using doctorGL. (Mines 3.1.0 ^.^)
(iii) HD/D3D: As the name suggests, the most powerful input found rarely (or commonly, depending on where you live) in you're GPU. It accelerates at a top speed, leaving behind OpenGL and HD versions, do. Most HD games recommend this input.
This, i have discussed with you till the extend of my knowledge (or at least ). Hope it prove useful to you.
